On Display Now At Still House
307 E 9th St. New York, NY 10003
Antecedere, Old Latin for ancestor, is Yoon Young Hur's debut exhibit in the US. The artist draws inspiration from ancient Korean ritual pottery, Togi, translating its deep historical significance into a contemporary body of work. Antecedere examines how one can develop a personal, cultural, and familial connection with a handmade object or sculpture. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and made exclusively for Still House.
Yoon Young Hur is an artist based in Seoul and New York City. She draws from her background in Architecture, exploring form and materiality with elements sourced from her two homes. Yoon Young Hur is a graduate of The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and Cooper Union, Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture.
